Jeanelle Gottlob, ’19 MPA

Jeanelle Gottlob, who graduated in 2019 from the Master of Public Administration program, is part of our expanding alumni network of working professionals. Currently, Jeanelle is the Emergency Program Manager for the City of Sacramento’s Office of Emergency Management. In addition to her current role, she has extensive experience working in government and policy as a program analyst.

"I decided to pursue an MPA with McGeorge because the program stood out from others in that it was embedded within a law school. At the time I made this decision, I was seeking higher education assistance and training to strengthen my abilities to interpret and write policy and regulations for the California Department of Social Services. While with McGeorge, I promoted to a position within the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (I made sure to include I was an MPA candidate in my resume and interview!) and soon after I graduated, I received another promotion into local government to continue the work I love doing. The class meetings with McGeorge professors and students absolutely strengthened my capabilities as a professional and set me apart from applicants when going for promotions. This program opened so many doors of opportunity and I appreciate that, even after the program has ended, I can still reach out and gain subject matter expertise from McGeorge faculty as well as fellow alumni I traveled the program with.”
